Jun 24 - 27, 2013 9:00am - 6:30pm

Dr. Shula Recanati is the Chairperson of the Board of the Educating for Excellence foundation (formerly College for All), whose mission is to enable talented children from underprivileged backgrounds to reach their maximum potential, complete their high school education with high achievements, and become contributing members of society. Educating for Excellence strives to strengthen Israeli society by reducing social gaps and creating equal opportunities for children with potential who reside within Israel's social and geographic periphery. In recent years, Educating for Excellence expanded its activities to include both Jewish and Arab students. Out of 2,000 students participating in their programs, approximately 400 are from Jaffa and Tira. Unlike many Israeli non-profits, Educating for Excellence's activities are funded not only by foreign foundation and donors but also by Israeli funders and enterprises. Dr. Recanati is an expert on the evolving connection between business and philanthropy in Israel, about the challenge of working with children from underprivileged backgrounds. She has extensive experience and knowledge about the challenges of working with and gaining the trust of the Arab community, and making a real change in the life of hundreds of Arab children.
