Youth Leadership
Youth Leadership
Young people in the State of Israel live in a reality in which their adult lives are spent in homogeneous communities that do not meet other groups except at certain junctions. This creates a young generation that is unfamiliar with the other groups in society and influenced by slogans and clichés that are shaping the country's present and future discourse, a divisive discourse that promotes constant existential fear and threat. The youth program of IJIL is designed for youth with a highly-developed social orientation and excellent leadership potential from all Israeli sectors, who wish to meet and know 'the other' and learn about both the distinctive and the mutual aspects of individuals, communities and societies in Israel in order to create joint action based on open dialogue and mutual respect. The program, which will operate in the informal education framework, is designed to connect teenage boys and girls living in nearby towns and villages and homogeneous communities.
Building partnerships is a central guiding principle in our work. We believe that partnerships based on pooling knowledge, experience, commitment and financial investment, enables the expansion of successful programs for attaining significant influence. Together with partners from the philanthropic, public and business sectors, we have a great opportunity to create systemic, extensive and effective change. We are a non-profit initiative, and during the time we have been operating, we have made significant achievements that allow us to work towards realization of the vision of a shared life and cultivation of a young leadership from all "tribes of Israel". Strategic Partners Jezreel Valley Regional Council and Kishon Drainage Authority.
