Keren - Vocational Rehabilitation Centres

Keren - Vocational Rehabilitation Centres

Keren is a public trust founded by the Ministry of Welfare (Rehabilitation Department) in 1964, in order to help populations with disabilities and employment barriers, to fully realise their vocational potential. Keren believes that work is a central and important value that improves a person's status in society, his/her self esteem and quality of life. Keren's guiding principles are: Normalization, inclusion, employment accessibility, and mainly everyone's right to integrate the employment world (in an, as much as possible, gainful job, according to ones abilities and disabilities). The Keren nationwide services are offered to all Israeli populations who need vocational rehabilitation. Keren's services are offered to the Arab population through two centres in the Arab towns of Tira and Nazareth, and other centres in mixed population towns such as Haifa, Jerusalem and Be'er Sheva that serve both their Arab and Jewish populations.
