Unprotected Citizens: Amidar Public Housing Company Threatens to Evict 497 Palestinian Families in Jaffa-Tel Aviv

This booklet contains an account of a recent attempt by Amidar, a public housing company, to evict 497 Palestinian families in Jaffa-Tel Aviv. Acccording to a review of company-managed properties in the Jaffa-Tel Aviv area published by the company in 2007, the project includes a total of 497 squatters, constituting 16.8 percent of the total properties managed by Amidar. However, according to the Palestinian residents, eviction attempts reflect a desire to evict them from the neighborhood, which has become a magnet for wealthy Jewish buyers in recent years.
