The gathering aimed to delve into the findings of joint research that looked at employers’ views on diversity and inclusion. The research found that although 70% of senior managers believe in the value of diversifying the workforce, only around 30% believe they can practically promote diversity in their workplace. Through a series of lectures, roundtable discussions, and a panel featuring industry leaders, attendees explored the complex challenges of sustaining diverse and inclusive workplaces, particularly amidst ongoing conflict. aChord underscores the vital role of shared workspaces in nurturing a thriving society.
Co-Impact hosted its 3rd Annual Diversification Conference on Monday, May 27. This year’s conference, themed “Diversity and Integration in Standard Practices: Building Resilience in Emergencies,” highlighted the pivotal role of pre-established infrastructure in fostering resilience.
Hassan Towafra, Head of the Economic Development Authority in the Arab Community, highlighted the relationship between the rising number of Arabs in academia and their integration into major companies. He noted a concerning decline in integration though, exacerbated by the ongoing conflict, with 30% of job seekers post-war coming from the Arab community.
Dr. Samer Far, VP of Knowledge and Consulting at Co-Impact, presented research findings on the impact of operational diversification during crises. Companies implementing Co-Impact’s recommendations on diversity and inclusion demonstrated greater resilience and crisis management success. He emphasized the leadership’s responsibility in understanding and supporting employees’ diverse needs.
Nawa Jahshan Batshon, Co-Impact CEO, highlighted the private sector’s role in fostering supportive work environments. CEOs shared strategies for building trust and supporting employees, underscoring the importance of diversity in overcoming crises. The conference concluded with roundtable discussions covering topics such as promoting constructive dialogue, leadership initiatives, and Jewish-Arab partnership building. Several companies supported the event, recognizing the importance of the issues discussed, including Osem, Strauss, and Amdocs, known for their commitment to integrating the Arab society.
