Noa and Mira Awad at the 18th Annual Jewish Music Festival | Washington DC
Oct 29 - 30, 2016 8:00pm - 12:00pm
Israel’s leading recording artist Noa (Achinoam Nini) was joined by Mira Awad, her partner in 2009's historic Eurovision Song Contest, for a concert during Washington’s Jewish Music Festival on October 29th. In 2009, Noa and Mira composed and performed the song “There Must Be Another Way,” making it all the way to the final round of Eurovision. The duo performs together to “show a situation that we believe is possible if we just make the necessary effort.”
The morning after the concert, Noa and Mira spoke about their partnership and the current realities of Jewish-Arab relations in Israel during a brunch conversation moderated by Mohammad Darawshe, Director of Planning, Equality & Shared Society at the Givat Haviva, the Center for Shared Society in Israel, as part of the ongoing series of education days on Arab Citizens of Israel.
