Discussion Series: Arab Citizens in the Public Sphere - Building Blocks for Shared Society

Over the last decade, efforts to enhance economic opportunities for Arab citizens have highlighted the need for greater representation and inclusion in the public sphere as important factors for closing gaps between Arab and Jewish citizens.

Join us to learn about four areas in which important building blocks are being laid for a more shared society in Israeli public life:




Language as a Bridge: Arabic studies in public schools and prevalence on campus
Yonatan Mendel, Head of Manarat: The Van Leer Center for Jewish-Arab Relations and co-editor of the book review section of the Journal of Levantine Studies (JLS), and
Thaer Abu Ras, Researcher on the status of Arabic on Israeli campuses.
