Israel's Mixed City of Lod
Avital Blonder, CEO and Founder of Jindas
The 8,000-year-old city of Lod, is home to 75,000 Jewish, Muslim and Christian residents living side by side.
Over the last 30 years a process of deterioration has made Lod a symbol of hardship.
A number of organizations and young leaders see Lod's history and diversity as an asset-a microcosm of Israeli society-
and are working to revitalize the city and build a more shared community.
Avital Blonder Jindas, CEO and founder of Jindas, is one of these leaders.
Jindas works to enhance urban regeneration and strengthen community partnerships with an emphasis on the Arab-Jewish relations.
Along with her many projects, Avital has been part of the collaborative effort to ensure JDC youth center opens in the city's center.
Join the Task Force and Avital on Friday to hear about the issues facing Lod, the strategies being implemented for urban renewal and stronger Jewish-Arab relations, and the impact for Israeli society.
