The Polyphony Foundation
The Polyphony Foundation
The Polyphony Foundation seeks to support programs which bridge the divide between Arab and Jewish communities in Israel, using the unique power of music to transcend social and cultural boundaries. The Polyphony Foundation supports a multi-tiered programming structure that begins with broad outreach to elementary school children and enables the musical and personal development of the students up to performance in a professional orchestra. With emphasis of work in Arab schools, these programs help close the education gap within Israeli society while creating a common ground for Arab and Jewish youth to come together around classical music. Polyphony's Alhan: Music Appreciation program reaches over 2,000 Arab children in Jaffa and the Galilee Region alone. Polyphony's Conservatories in Nazareth and Jaffa are the first music schools in Israel's Arab community to reach international standards, currently training over 130 talented Arab youth. Through concerts in Nazareth, Jaffa, and other Arab cities in Israel, Polyphony is helping to expose the greater Arab Israeli community to high-level classical music performance.
