ANU - Making Change
ANU–Making Change is an apolitical non-profit organization based in Tel Aviv, established in 2013 following a merger between three leading social change organizations - Agenda, Hasdera, and Uru. As such, ANU’s mission reflects the power of collective, collaborative action, to promote a vibrant and influential civil society that works together towards a more inclusive and equitable Israel. ANU assembles influential civil society leaders, activists and NGOs in Israel to identify the top social, political and economic issues, raise public awareness and advocate for change. ANU works to develop and deploy digital tools and effective organizing methods used in inspiring movements around the world to drive grassroots organizations to action and cooperation. With a growing community of more than 175,000 members, running both large-scale, long-term campaigns with national impact, as well as many smaller-scale campaigns with a more immediate or local reach. ANU’s work is guided by a key set of values including social justice, economic fairness, shared society, gender equality and environmental sustainability. Additionally, since its founding, ANU and its partners have taken important strides towards a shared society between Jews and Arabs through various activities including diversifying the media by increasing the representation of Arab experts, promoting teaching Arabic in Jewish schools, in integrating Arab teachers in Israeli classrooms, increasing transparency in local authorities and many more.
In 2019, ANU will bring in an Arab coordinator who will work with the organization's coalitions on current projects like the Integration of Arab Teachers Campaign and A-List, as well as launch new initiatives to increase ANU's involvement in and work with Israel's diverse communities.
