The Cleaning Cooperative

The Cleaning Cooperative is a social business owned by its workers, Arab women from the Wadi Ara region in Israel. It was established in 2017, to provide a social solution in face of the exploitive contract market in the cleaning field. The Cleaning Cooperative provides worthy wages and fair employment to its worker-owners, who enjoy individual and group support for the realization of personal rights and empowerment. Our Model focuses on a three-year process of intense training for the workers and supports the business expansions, in order to ensure its success.

The cooperative was founded by the Hashomer Hatzair Life Movement, a network of social entrepreneurs residing in mission-oriented groups all over Israel.
