High school students discussing Jews-Arab relations in partnership with the museum of Islamic Arts

The program brings high-school students from Jewish-Israeli high schools to the Van Leer Institute for a day of lectures and discussions about different topics that relate to Jews-Arabs relations in Israel and in the Middle East. Students listen to a lecture given by a specialist, and then discuss their opinions. Among the topics offered: Arab citizens' rights in Israel; the history of the relationships between Jews and Arabs in Israel; the Arab Spring of 2011 and its consequences; Arab culture; two-states or one-state solution, etc. After discussing these issues at the Van Leer Institute, students attend a guided tour at the Museum of Islamic Art in Jerusalem bringing awareness to different topics, with the aim to raise political awareness and encourage civic participation.
