Regional Inclusive Plannings (RIP)

Consensus building regarding urban planning The Negev is growing, and by some estimates by 2048 could even quadruple its population (3,300,000), and even by the more moderate assessment of 1,400,000, the region is severely lacking in infrastructure. Today approximately 100,000 Bedouin live in 46 unrecognized villages in the Negev. As the years go by and those communities remain without a solution, the problem is growing ever bigger and becomes much harder to handle. Unfortunately, despite government attempts, the problem has remained largely unanswered. It is clear that without addressing this problem it will be extremely difficult to better the quality of life and will hinder the potential growth in the region. As a result of the work done in 2016 by the Negev council with all the major stakeholders in the region and in the government, we now understand that one of the key milestones is to consolidate all the different visions, into one coherent vision for the demographic future of the and the common good of the Negev.
