Mosaic: The Chicago Community Center Lod

The Chicago Community Center in Lod provides services to all communities sharing the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood -- Jewish, and Arab alike, regardless of their faith, race and ethnic background -- and to those of all ages.  

Tensions between the different communities residing in the neighborhood as well as gaps in cultural and economic status requires, at this stage, that the Center operate mainly in the model of empowering each community according to its needs. The community center believes and hopes that the process of gradual community empowerment will increase encounters, respect and meaningful dialogue between the communities living in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood and in the larger city of Lod.

The Mission of the community center is to strengthen lives and secure futures. The vision of the community center is to build a prosperous community, where everyone is valued and has the resources they need to succeed.
