The Center for Israeli Education (CIE)

The Center for Israeli Education (CIE)

Established in 1999, The Center for Israeli Education (CIE) aims to transform the Israeli education system into one that prepares students for the 21st century, fosters democratic values and promotes equal educational opportunity by encouraging greater school autonomy – in line with successful reform initiatives implemented around the world.  CIE maintains that this mission is essential to building a promising future for all Israeli citizens including Jews and Arabs.

CIE works with schools and communities to implement positive change by improving schools abilities, based on the following four principles used in the best schools worldwide:

  1.       Identity: Democratic values connecting a student to his culture and community.
  2.       Pedagogy: Implementing methods of instruction that promote active learning.
  3.       Management: Promoting school autonomy through partnership of stakeholders: parents, students and teachers.
  4.       Evaluation: Performing internal evaluations in order to enable significant improvement.
