ACRI’s distributes position paper on making Jewish identity of the state a Basic Law

In recent years, several proposed bills sought to enshrine a Jewish definition of the state’s identity and character in the framework of a Basic Law. In the current Knesset, one such bill was submitted by Members of Knesset Yariv Levin and Ayelet Shaked. Currently, the bill is pending review by Professor Ruth Gavison and suggest options for defining the state. Out of the belief that democracy in Israel must not be a secondary value, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) published a position paper and sent it to all government ministers.

SEE THE POSITION PAPER, HERE.
