JDC international board visits Arab city of Tira as part of centennial celebrations

On May 19th, as part of JDC's Centennial celebrations, 35 participants from JDC's international board visited the city of Tira to learn about Israel's Arab citizens and JDC's related programs.

Task Force Director of Programs in Israel, Avivit Hai, gave an introductory presentation on Arab society in Israel, then escorted them to meet with Abed al-Hai Memon, Mayor of Tira, Aiman Saif, head of the Authority for the Economic Development of the Arab Sector, and Sigal Shelach, CEO of JDC-Israel-TEVET.

Throughout the day, participants learned about JDC's efforts in Arab society, which include programs in early childhood education, the Massira Program addressing the needs of people with disabilities, Excel HT Program that enhances High Tech employment and Al-Fanar Program of 21 employment centers enhancing employment in Arab society.
