In publishing this report the Mossawa Center hopes to significantly raise awareness and understanding of the factors that led to the conflict in Akka. We hope this report will be used to take stock of the current situation on the ground in Israel and what this means for the wider conflict in the region. We have written this report not just to explain the events as they happened in Akka, but to identify the underlying causes of the conflict in the context of systematic discrimination, racial incitement, harassment and de jure and de facto socioeconomic discrimination across all areas including housing, education and in public services.
