In order to advance efforts to improve the conditions of Arab society in Israel, the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute in conjunction with the UJA Federation of New York has embarked upon a three-year initiative to conduct research in key areas of concern and subsequently publish position papers. These will be of professional use to government policymakers and decision-makers, the business sector, civil society NGOs and foundations. Research findings will be put on the public agenda by means of conferences, a public awareness campaign and dialogue with government officials and civil society players. A strategy document recommending modes of effective intervention for NGOs and foundations will be drafted and updated each year.
