When it comes to unemployment benefits and income maintenance, Palestinian citizens of Israel are discriminated against by the employment service and the National Insurance Institute (NII).  Sot el-Amel is a grassroots organization founded by residents of Nazareth.  In the course of time, Sot-el-Amel has become a regional organization serving all Arab residents of the North.  Project support enabled the organization to implement its strategic decision to strengthen its work with Arab women.  This is reflected in the participation of women in its leadership ranks, new initiatives around the Wisconsin Plan project, International Women's Day, and the creation of international networking opportunities for women activists.
