Bedouin women from different locations throughout the Negev create and market traditional hand-woven products such as rugs and pillow coverings, enabling them to make money despite the fact that their traditional culture does not allow them to work outside the home. The project revitalizes and preserves one of the traditional Bedouin crafts, which is an identity symbol, provides disadvantaged families with supplementary income that can be spent on children's education and welfare, enhances traditional and introduces new women's skills and raises their status within their families and communities.
