In an effort to better accommodate minority students, the Open University put forth a series of initiatives to better serve Israeli Arab students, including: translating nine courses to Arabic; developing a course to teach Hebrew to Israeli Arab students still learning the language; recruitment of highly qualified Arabic speaking tutors in various disciplines; and scholarships.
