Jerusalem Inter-Cultural Center: The Jerusalem Mehalev Coalition

Coordinates the efforts of the many agencies and individuals (NGOs, business sector, government) that are involved in the application of the Mehalev ("from Welfare to Work") Program in Jerusalem. It affects the decision making processes at the Mehalev program, in Jerusalem and beyond; it develops approaches to cultural competency at the "low-range" workplace; it created and promotes an Employment Standard that improves the commitment of employers to the rights of minimum-wage employees. The coalition's role was expanded in May 2007 to include Ultra-Orthodox and East Jerusalem residents.
