The Israel Association of Community Centers: Crossing the Galilee

Works with 150-250 Israeli Arab and Jewish youth aged 13-18 from community centers in Sharon and Northern Israel. Participants meet six times during the school year to get to know one another, engage in facilitated dialogue and joint activities. The goal is to help participants understand each other's cultures and recognize their similarities through personalized relationships. The program features two joint overnight trips. During summer vacation, participants attend a three-day camp in the Galilee, with one night in an Arab village and another in a kibbutz or other Jewish community. The camp culminates on the last day when the participants build a raft together and sail together across the Sea of Galilee.
