The Interreligious Coordinating Council in Israel

The mission is to harness the teachings and values of the three monotheistic religions in order to use religion in Israel as a source of reconciliation and unity/understanding/co-existence. Founded in January 1991, ICCI functions as an umbrella organization of 75 Christian, Palestinian/Muslim and Jewish institutions, including Jewish-Arab co-existence organizations, museums, universities and other Interreligious organizations. The religious leaders will guide the members of the different faith communities to work together to address issues of common concern, such as poverty relief, the empowerment of women, and environmental protection. In the long term, ICCI hopes to transform public discourse, empower peace builders and make non-violent discourse and mutual cooperation among local Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities a reality for society as a whole.
