Friends of Israel Sci-Tech Schools: The Achva Gilboa Co-Existence Project

This project is led by the School for Peace in Nave Shalom – a heterogeneous school of Jews and Arabs, is running its sixth successful year. Arab and Jewish students come together to openly discuss issues such as Israeli identity, national symbolism, the right of return, and equal rights among Jews and Arabs.

In the first stages of the project, both nationalities meet separately to discuss issues and to set up guidelines for the next stage, which is a meeting of the two nationalities in a three-day conference held by Nave Shalom. At the end of the events, a counselor visits both schools separately to summarize and to conclude the activities. At an advanced stage, 4-8 students from each school are chosen to travel to Germany in order to attend a multi-national conference on co-existence.
