Our network, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Gilboa Regional Council, has initiated the Achva Gilboa project for Jewish-Arab joint activities. Some of the programs include:
- The STS Program (Students Teaching Students): the STS program is run jointly with the Givat Haviva Center for Peace Studies. The study program takes place in groups and later in bi-national groups in joint seminars. Topics for discussion may include personal vs. collective identity, groups of identification, and relations between Jews and Arabs and the Jewish-Arab conflict.
- The Bible-Koran Quiz: the first of its kind in Israel and the world, the quiz aims to bring the two cultures closer together, strengthening what they have in common and illuminating their differences.
- Holocaust Studies: lectures and discussion are presented to teachers and students from the two schools by representatives of the NAS Association within the framework of the Gilboa Forum Meetings. The goal of these sessions is to raise awareness and to clarify any misinterpretations regarding the suffering of the Jews during the Holocaust.
