This is the first Home Hospice targeting terminally-ill cancer patients in the Galilee, assisting Israeli Arab families with ill loved ones. The Hospice team will be Arabic-speaking and sensitive to the patients’ culture, and social and spiritual care.
The Hospice team will implement pain relief and control of symptoms. It will also aim to alleviate the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual discomforts, while remaining sensitive to the personal, cultural, and religious values and beliefs of the patient. Additionally, the Hospice will also provide home visits 24 hours a day and social activities escorted by medical teams. This will improve the cost-effectiveness of care without sacrificing quality of care; enable final departure of the patient while surrounded by family members and close friends at home; and will help the family through their grief and into healing after the loss of a loved one.
