Umm el-Fahem Art Gallery (el-Sabbar Association)

The gallery was established in order to present quality art and thereby encourage educational, cultural, and communal activity in Umm el-Fahem in particular, and in Israel as a whole.

The Gallery forms a bridge between cultures. It is a meeting point for Jewish, Arab and International artists who meet in the gallery in order to talk about arts, their experiences, their outlook and also politics.

The gallery presents 4 art exhibitions a year aimed first and foremost for the Arab population in Israel. The focal point of the Gallery's activity, besides art, is education. The most important people who come to the gallery are the children of Umm el-Fahem and the Arab children from the surrounding area. The Gallery's "investment" in the future, embodied in its educational programs, is complemented by a serious and sincere approach to the past. The gallery initiated in 2008 the establishment of an historical archive which is working continuously towards a mapping of the elderly population in Umm el-Fahem and Wadi Ara area. Since 2006, parallel to all its on-going activities, the Gallery is working towards the establishment of the Umm el-Fahem Art Museum, the first Arab museum in Israel.
