The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies: Breakfast and Seminar Programs highlighting "Transboundary Environmental Cooperation
in the Middle East"

September 9th the
Arava Institute for Environmental Studies hosted an enlightening and inspiring program featuring environmental experts from Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority who have championed the field of trans-boundary environmental cooperation through the model of the ground-breaking Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (
www.friendsofarava.org). The program included learning about how the Arava Institute has advanced the mission that "Nature Knows No Borders" and how the Institute's successful model can be relevant to addressing challenges in the own region.
- 8:30-10 a.m.: Breakfast program featuring the Institute's Middle East panelists.
Location: Akasha, 9543 Culver Boulevard, Culver City.
- 5:00 p.m.: In depth seminar featuring a key note speech from Dr. Peter Gleick, co-founder and president of the Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment, and Security, who discussed the relevance of Southern California environmental issues to the Arava Institute model.
