Kav-Laoved Worker's Hotline

Kav LaOved (Worker's Hotline) is a nonprofit non governmental organization committed to protecting the rights of disadvantaged workers employed in Israel and by Israelis in the Occupied Territories, including Palestinians, migrant workers, subcontracted workers and new immigrants. Kav LaOved is committed to principles of democracy, equality and international law concerning human and social rights.

Over the years Kav LaOved has developed a wide array of services geared at informing workers and employers of labor issues, monitoring and documenting legal infringements and seeking legislative modifications to promote equality and safety in the workplace.

Israeli Arab workers, whom this project aims to reach out to, are a natural target group for Kav LaOved services.

As a whole, they populate low-paying and low-prestige jobs, where their rights and benefits are more likely to be trampled.

Hence, work with the Arab Israeli population will closely relate to the organization's other activities, though it is imperative to conduct much research in order to develop services that suit the nature of their work patterns.
