  • There are significant difference in the level of health of Jews and Arabs in Israel. They can be attributed to the following causes: lower socio-economic status of the Arab population, which is significantly and consistently associated with poorer health;[1] substandard medical infrastructure; crowded living conditions; and cultural-behavioral differences in health-care consumption patterns.[2]

 

  • A 2007 Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics issued a report on the causes of death in Israel. It indicated that the general rate of preventable deaths among Arabs was 1.5 times higher than those of Jews. For example, deaths from cardiovascular diseases were 1.6 times higher among Arabs than Jews
