Jan 24. in Ann Arbor: A Conversation with Gilad Peled, former CEO of the Municipal Authority for Development of Jaffa

Jan 24 2011 12:00pm -

Gilad Peled
former CEO of the Municipal Authority for Development of Jaffa

Monday, January 24, 12 noon
Ann Arbor JCC

Gilad is part of Israel's young generation who understand that Israel's security and future are not just about protection from outside forces, but also about amiable relations among all Israelis regardless of religion, age, social class and politics.

In his former role, and as a consultant to the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo, he works with a population that epitomizes the complexities of the social fabric with which Israel grapples; a mixed population of Arab and Jews, migrant workers, new immigrants and old-timers, extensive poverty side by side with prosperity. Gilad works with others to transform this community into one that lives in harmony and balance. He also serves as a Major in the Israeli Air Force Reserves.

Come hear Gilad speak of how his experiences exemplify his personal view of Zionism, in part by striving to make Israel a better place to live for all of her citizens.

The program is co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor and is part of the American Zionist Movement's The Israel Conversation: 2.0 Project Sponsored by the Dorothy and Harold Greenwald Foundation
