New Israel Fund & 92nd St. Y Panel: "Where Should the Money Go? Jewish Philanthropy and Israel’s Arab Minority"

A recent trend in charity has seen Jewish philanthropists supporting Arab-Israeli causes. On Tuesday, March 3rd, a panel of leading philanthropists discussed their personal giving philosophies and priorities and what compels them to contribute to Israel's Arab minority. They examined some of the questions and challenges they face, including the response of their Jewish peers and how to approach issues of identity and the Arab community's relationship with Israel.

Stuart Brown is a Trustee of the Naomi & Nehemiah Cohen Foundation. He chairs the board of American Friends of Hand in Hand and also serves on the boards of the JDC and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

Edith Everett is co-founder and president of the Everett Family Foundation. She is on the board of Human Rights Watch, among others.

Mary Ann Stein is president of the Moriah Fund and a board member of the New Israel Fund.

Panel moderator Melissa A. Berman is president and CEO of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, and an adjunct professor of philanthropy at Columbia University's School of Business.

The event is co-presented by the New Israel Fund and the 92nd Street Y.
