Lod Community Foundation: Magic Nights in Ancient - In Israel

Oct 21 2010 6:00pm - Oct 28 2010 8:00pm -

Consecutive Thursday nights (Oct. 14, 21 and 28):

On these "magical nights" the festival will provide an 'A Star is Born'-like opportunity for local talent to gain recognition. In addition, a number of prominent musicians have generously volunteered their time, both to perform at the event and serve as a panel to audition local talent. This star-studded group includes:

David Broza, Mira Awad, Eyal Mazig (From the band Dor Banim), Saz (Arab songwriter and composer)

There is no doubt that the festival will be a source of pride for the residents, empowering them with a sense of ownership over the fate of their city. Secondly, the festival represents an opportunity to counter negative images of Lod as drug capital, instead rebranding the city as a model for multiculturalism and creativity. Lastly, like all of the Foundation's work, this initiative will promote coexistence in everyday life with Arabs and Jewish musicians performing together for the advancement of their shared city.

We would like to encourage any interested corporations, institutions or individuals to contribute to the festival, whether by offering their time or resources. The Foundation has already received a 200,000 donation from the European Union, and it expects to raise an additional 550,000 through donations from NGOs and individuals.
