UNESCO sees Waldorf education as sharing in its values of equality, tolerance and nonviolence. Studies find that Waldorf students have stronger democratic values than their peers. There are 22 Arab countries without a single, dedicated Waldorf school. The first openly flourishing Arab Waldorf school began in Israel in 2004. PRESENTERS: Aida Awad has pioneered the integration of the Waldorf curriculum in Arab communities since co-founding the first Arab Waldorf kindergarten in Israel in 2004. Before graduating in the class with the first Arab Waldorf teachers in Israel, she was a public schoolteacher for the Israeli Ministry of Education for seven years. Aida resides in Tamra, Israel.
