The Jewish Council for Public Affairs led a leadership mission to Israel in December to examine various trends on the ground. JCPA has long addressed issues related to the Arab community in Israel and State-minority relations. In consultation with the Task Force, a track session on Israeli Arab issues was organized with JCPA.
JCPA leadership attended an evening panel on December 8, 2009 entitled "Current Realities of State-Minority and Jewish-Arab Relations in Israel." The panel included an introductory session by Avivit Hai, Program Associate - Israel, included panelists Mohammed Darawshe, Co-director of the Abraham Fund Initiatives, and Shuli Dichter, External consultant to the Prime Minister's Office and former Co-director of Sikkuy.
The panel addressed both historical perspectives and current trends in State-minority and Jewish-Arab relations and was followed by a meaningful Q&A session with the group, which was extremely attentive, engaged and interested.
