BUSTAN: "Permaculture For Justice" California Tour with Michal Vital

On October 27-30, 2008 BUSTAN held a California tour with Michal Vital about BUSTAN's "Permaculture for Justice" project. Michal's fascinating multi-media presentation included the history of the Bedouin in Israel, and how BUSTAN's Permaculture for Justice project is helping to build a joint Bedouin-Jewish community, preserve the Bedouin way of life, and address ecological issues due to Bedouin "unrecognized" status in Israel.

Michal Vital presented in the following locations: October 27th, 7pm: Santa Monica October 28th, 7pm: Santa Barbara October 29th, 6pm: Walnut Creek, East Bay October 30th, 7:30pm: San Rafael, Marin County Michal Vital is a nationally renowned planner and green building consultant and volunteer with BUSTAN since its inception. Michal was one of the team leaders that built BUSTAN's Wadi al Na'am stawbale solar-powered medical clinic, and has planned numerous ecologically friendly buildings throughout the country. She was the lead teacher of BUSTAN's historic Bedouin-Jewish permaculture course, the first in the world. BUSTAN is an Israeli NGO working at the nexus of social and environmental justice in the Negev region of Israel.
