Sewar Eid and Yael Keinan, the student speakers, are outstanding young leaders and eloquent spokespersons
for the mission of building partnership and coexistence between Arab and Jewish citizens of Israel
Hand in Hand was founded in 1997 and is dedicated to promoting social change and mutual understanding
between Israel's Jewish and Arab citizens through integrated multicultural schools for their children. This year
over 900 students, grades Pre-k through 12, are attending its four accredited public schools in Israel. Hand in
Hand is the recipient of teaching and peace awards from Ben Gurion University and the Israeli Federation of
Teachers, among others, and has attracted broad support across Israel and around the world. Despite the
ongoing conflict in Israel, the schools have grown steadily and they continue to nurture a new generation,
prepared to create a more democratic and peaceful future.
