- The government regulates and funds the education system in Israel through the Ministry of
Education and the Ministry of the Interior. In Israel there are two major educational
subsystems: Hebrew-language schools and Arabic-language schools. Both are supervised
by the Ministry of Education.
- The curricula in both systems are almost identical in math, sciences, and English, yet differ in
the humanities. Students in the Arabic-language schools have to study Jewish history and
Hebrew literature, while Palestinian history and literature is severely under-represented in the
curricula of Hebrew schools.
