About the speaker
Amal Elsana Alh'jooj, an Israeli Bedouin community activist from the Negev and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, began the first Israeli Bedouin women's organization at age 17. She later co-founded the Arab-Jewish Center for Equality, Empowerment and Cooperation (AJEEC) and the Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Development (NISPED). She currently serves as the Director of North American relations of AJEEC-NISPED and is pursuing doctoral studies at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
